ABOUT Carly Ann

I am a white, bisexual, fat-positive, trauma informed, abolitionist doula and future midwife. I am privileged to live and play in the city of Chicago.

I am passionate about supporting undisturbed physiologic birth.

My expertise is in home births and birth centers but I also love to help my clients navigate an empowered birth in the hospital.

I am passionate about you having the birth YOU want, and having agency over your body and birth, no matter what this journey brings.

I provide evidence based information, grounded energy, and listening ear.

I work with anyone and everyone, but queer families and those who have gone through fertility treatment are near and dear to my heart.

I work to address bias and obstetric violence in the medical industrial complex through my work as a doula.

Racism, homophobia, transphobia and fat-phobia (and lots more) are still baked into our healthcare systems.

It’s an honor to walk with my clients as they find their voice in their healthcare journey.

I am vaccinated against COVID-19 (all the basic stuff too) and believe in community responsibility.

When I’m not hanging out with awesome pregnant folks, you can find me playing roller derby with the Windy City Rollers. Many of my friends and teammates have gone through fertility treatments, so families with that experience have a special place in my heart. I also love riding my bike, sewing quilts, and gardening! My fascination with the healing power of herbs and plants grows stronger every day.
